Andromeda Chimneys & Home

Your fireplace is the heart of your home. When something’s wrong — a blocked flue, a tired hearth, a chimney that hasn’t been touched in years — you feel it. The cold draught, the worry about safety, the sense that something important has been neglected. Phil Markides has spent the last 20 years putting that right for homeowners across Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol and the surrounding countryside.

Andromeda Chimney and Home is a family-run business built on craftsman standards, not shortcuts. Phil does the work himself — no franchised gangs, no rushed visits. When he walks into your home, he knows what he’s looking at, and he’ll tell you straight what it needs. Angela handles the bookings and keeps everything running smoothly. Between them, they’ve built a reputation on honesty, tidiness and doing the job properly the first time.

What We Do

We cover the full range of chimney, fireplace and home improvement work — from a straightforward annual sweep to a complete fireplace installation or bespoke garden project built from natural stone. Whatever the job, the same standard applies.

Why Homeowners Choose Andromeda

Phil isn’t someone who turned up and started a business last year. He’s been doing this work for two decades, mostly through word of mouth — the best indication of quality there is. He takes pride in every job, from a quick sweep to a months-long stone project. You’ll find the same care on day one as on the final sign-off.

• 20 years’ hands-on experience in chimney, fireplace and masonry work
• Phil does the work himself — you speak to him directly, he visits, he does the job
• Period property specialists — experienced with older homes, Cotswold stone and traditional construction
• Straightforward and honest — he’ll tell you what the job actually needs, not what earns the most
• Fully insured and documented — every sweep and installation properly certified
